The Sofia City Prosecutor's Office (SGP) has charged the man who attacked a woman with a knife in tram No. 6 in Sofia with attempted premeditated murder. He will be detained for up to 72 hours.
A pre-trial investigation has been initiated into the case and is being conducted under the leadership and supervision of the SGP.
After reviewing the evidence collected at the beginning of the investigation, the supervising prosecutor has assessed that it is sufficient to hold the 40-year-old man criminally liable.
As bTV reported earlier today, shortly before 09:00 this morning, a woman was attacked with a knife in tram No. 6 in Sofia, in the district „Vrbnitsa“.
The attacker is 40 years old, and the injured is his girlfriend – 35 years old. The woman was taken to „Pirogov“ in serious condition.
The victim was taken to an anti-shock room. There are multiple cuts and stab wounds in the head, face, neck and arms, reported by „Pirogov“, which led to extensive blood loss and multiple hematomas in the face. The victim's death did not occur only because of the timely emergency medical care provided.
On March 5, the SGP is to submit a request to the Sofia City Court for a measure of detention in custody against the accused.
