A 57-year-old man was detained in a room equipped for the production of synthetic narcotics and precursors, during a specialized police operation by the Directorate of the Bulgarian Anti-Drugs and Narcotics Bureau. The operation by officers from the “Narcotics” department was carried out on April 10 in the territory of Sofia and the municipality of Svoge, under the supervision of the District Prosecutor's Office – Sofia.
During the special operation, a separate room for the production of high-risk narcotic substances was established, and during the investigation of two addresses, various types of chemicals and precursors were seized, as well as methylenedioxymethamphetamine /MDMA, ecstasy/ and methcathinone /ephedrone/, held for the purpose of distribution.
It was established that the detainee is known for his skills in creating them and his involvement in this type of activity was established in other investigations in our country and abroad.
The man was brought in as a defendant in pre-trial proceedings for a crime under Art. 354a, para. 1, clause 1, pr. 4 of the Criminal Code.
By decree of the supervising prosecutor, the accused was detained for a period of up to 72 hours.
