Ognyan Minchev: The contract with Botash is not a precedent in the energy policy of the Bulgarian oligarchy - 1

The contract with "Botash" is not a precedent in the energy policy of the Bulgarian oligarchy and its official institutional representatives. The Bulgarian oligarchy is the younger brother of the Russian great-power oligarchy. Energy is a major resource for Moscow's neocolonial rule over Bulgaria. Gazprom's previous monopoly in Bulgaria is a major part of this resource. Lukoil's status as a functional hegemon of the liquid fuels cartel in our country is a major part of this neocolonial status. The super-profits of the Russian energy monopoly have been a major resource for the enormous corruption at the highest levels of power in Bulgaria for at least three decades.

This was commented on "Facebook" Ognyan Minchev.

After the sanctions against the Kremlin aggressor after 2022, Moscow's open monopoly on Bulgarian energy had to give way to more veiled, indirect contractual and institutional forms of neocolonial power over the Bulgarian state and society. The contract with "Botash", concluded by the government of Reshetnikov's protégé, fits entirely into this new reality. Bulgaria's losses of one million and more per day are the colonial tax that Bulgaria must continue to pay to the metropolis through Ankara. The Turkish company plays a fig leaf role in the continuation of this colonial dependence - of course, for a generous payment, I suppose.

The outrage over the contract with "Botash" must openly define itself as outrage over Bulgaria's continuing neocolonial status as a bantustan of the Kremlin. Otherwise, it makes no sense. If we are outraged by the contract with "Botash", we should be outraged by everything else that expresses this neocolonial status of dependence. Including its latest manifestation - the somersaults of Borisov and the current government led by GERB on the occasion of the budget, with the aim of thwarting entry into the eurozone from the beginning of next 2026. Remaining outside the eurozone has not only financial, but also geopolitical dimensions. As the leader of Vazrazhdane K. Kostadinov says - we can untie the lev in a currency board from the euro and tie it to another currency. For example - to the ruble. One lev to be exchanged for one selling kopeck.
