The accident on the Pleven - Lukovit road, in which 12-year-old Siyana died, once again caused a lot of comments. And the stupid question we are going to ask is: „So what?“
Who in the state cares that a young child died. The prime minister? The transport minister? The regional minister? The interior minister? Who… Something to talk about resigning. So, out of morality, brother. Out of morality?
Otherwise, Siyana's family certainly cares. It's hard to think about what her parents are going through. Another one who is losing a child. We always say that the war on the roads must be publicized so that the war on the roads can stop. It was the same with the incident with Philip in Sofia, meters from the Ministry of Internal Affairs, it was the same with Ani and Yavor, it was the same with many, many others.
And what of that? Another stupid question. The Minister of Regional Development and Public Works Ivan Ivanov told journalists that he had ordered immediate action to be taken to secure the section of the Byala - Botevgrad road, where 12-year-old Siyana died. He reminded that he had ordered the removal of the entire management of the Pleven Public Works Department and an inspection at the Road Infrastructure Agency (API) to clarify the overall situation and indicated that results from it are expected within a week. Inspection, results - and whatnot.
Ivanov also said that it would be good to introduce a new practice and added that the section where the accident occurred should have signage in memory of the deceased child. So that everyone who drives knows that there is a person killed there.
In 5 years, 34 accidents have occurred in this section, 10 people have been injured, and three have died. Among them is 12-year-old Siyana.
Very recently we had…
Very recently there were mourners again after the ridiculous death of an 18-year-old driver, a student at a Plovdiv high school, who crashed into a tree at great speed in the village of Yagodovo and died on the spot. Before that, he had another accident with excessive speed - 6 months ago, but apparently he promised mom and dad not to do it again.
Then an 18-year-old driver from Yambol, who has had a license for 4 months, but tried to drift on a busy street in broad daylight and crashed into a fence at high speed – at least no one was hurt.
This is where family comes in – mom and dad. If there is one, that is. Because in the family, the meaning of the word responsibility is understood. School, friends – yes, they are another factor in the life of every young person. But family is one. Children don't choose their mom and dad, right?
If the family, or rather the parents of the deceased 18-year-old student from Plovdiv, had already hit the table after the first accident that he wouldn't have a car until he was 21, 22, 23 or whatever, today he would be in class, not in …
And so somehow death on the road just became part of our everyday life. We talk, write, discuss, comment and so on until the next incident. That's just how our everyday life somehow became, but we still come to the stupid question - who cares.
The state, brother, the state… We need to wake her up. That's the only way we can stop the bad things happening on our streets.
The state, brother, the state…
And somehow death on the road just became part of our everyday life
