That won't happen.
Democracy only works when society is educated. When ignorance is widespread, it reproduces unenlightened, corrupt and disgusting power through elections.
This fact was proven by science more than fifty years ago, when Kenneth Arrow, Nobel laureate in economics in 1972, derived the theorem that voting leads to dictatorship. The enormous numerical superiority of stupid majorities over the enlightened minority raises governments from scoundrels – we see it everywhere in the world.
Do we realize that the best years of our state were the years when Bulgaria was a Kingdom?
In less than 70 years, the Bulgarian monarchs transformed a backward Ottoman province into a modern European state.
Amid the mud and misery, in just a few decades, a University, a National Theater, a Courthouse, and a National Library emerged in the Kingdom of Bulgaria. Hundreds of schools and community centers were built. The arts flourished – this was the period in which Vazov, Yavorov, Debelyanov, Pencho Slaveykov, and Elin Pelin created. The flourishing of our kingdom is so impressive that all of Europe begins to talk about the Bulgarian miracle.
And the wars for national unification, although lost, bring the Bulgarian army so much dignity and honor…
Under His Majesty Tsar Boris III the rise continues. The economy grows. Bulgarian Jews are saved from the death camps. Not a single Bulgarian soldier was sent to the trenches of World War II.
Unfortunately, this romantic period of our history ends with a falsified referendum, held during the Soviet occupation at the barrel of a machine gun. The Bulgarian Republic is illegitimate. The monarchy was not rejected with an honest expression of will.
Today Bulgaria is in a painful dilemma. The political class is bastard and thieving. The people are spitting on social media and wandering in feeble, fruitless protests.
Isn't it time to take back our crown?
Let's turn to those times when our predecessors lived with dignity and meaning?
And they left us an ideal:
