Germany coach Julian Nagelsmann is extremely happy with his team's convincing 7-0 home win against Bosnia and Herzegovina in a match from the fifth round in the League of Nations. The success secured a 13-point asset for the four-time world champions, who claim top spot in Group A3 before the end.
"Unbelievable performance - from defense to attack," Nagelsmann said.
"We have no injuries from the game and our counter-press was extremely good," added the coach after the biggest victory since he took over the team last year.
"To score seven goals against an opponent that plays great defense is great. We wanted to win possession and then move forward quickly, be quick in transition and set up counter-attacks - something we didn't do often enough at Euro 2024. Everything was fine now," Nagelsmann added.
He added that the team is making good progress, but stressed that they "still have a long way to go" until they can achieve their goals. After shock results in the group stages of the 2018 and 2022 World Cups, Germany seem to be in good form again.
"It's always difficult to gauge development because you don't play the same opponents. There will be better opponents than today, but the development of the team is good. We are on the right path, but this is still a path, a process that we have to go through," said the selector.
"That was fun. The things we wanted to do, we did them well," commented the national player Jamal Musiala to RTL.
