Atalanta coach Gian Piero Gasperini has said that he has no objections to taking over the Roma team from the new season, topsport reported.

Gasperini's name is already quite often mentioned among the candidates for the Roma coaching position to replace Claudio Ranieri.

Ranieri will lead the "wolves" until the summer, after which he will take a leadership position at the club.

"Roma? Who wouldn't want to be Roma's coach? It's a great place, extraordinary, with an exceptional crowd. It would be a source of pride, but what will happen is difficult to predict. Roma is like the national team, everyone likes it," Gasperini told RAI Sport at an event at the CONI in Rome to celebrate the Enzo Bearzot Awards.

"I'm happy, it's a very prestigious award. The national team has to play like they did in the second half yesterday against Germany," Gasperini told reporters.
