We have a very strange intertwining of carelessness, laziness and at the same time insistence on rights, without understanding things in their entirety, unfortunately. The occasion for the conversation were two serious cases from recent days. First a mother killed her two children, then a man threw himself under cars on a busy boulevard, and then ended his life by jumping from a high floor of a block of flats.
„People have rights, but they also have duties and responsibilities. Including responsibility for their own lives. When rights are treated in this perverse way, when we have a person who has lost his mind and cannot defend not only his rights but also his life, we see what happens. We are talking about „raptos melancholikos“ - these unstoppable suicidal forms of melancholic psychosis. Such people, even when they are in specialized hospitals, manage to commit suicide“, the guest also shared.
„Here we do not have any clear and sober assessment of the suicide risk. And this is because we have very vague laws that treat such behavior from a person. The same probably applies to the mother who killed her two eggs. It must be untreated, widespread melancholy with outbursts of murder and suicide. Look, these cases are described in textbooks. It is perverse to allow a person who has lost his mind about his life and others to be treated as one who has free choice. There is no regulation that treats these cases of completely torn inhumanity. This is somehow understood as liberality by society," he added.
