Delyan Peevski himself is a former colleague of Petyo Petrov-the Euro from the Sofia Investigation Service 15 years ago. Until two months ago and a half ago, Boyko Borisov claimed that he had not heard of Petyo Petrov. It's not that he doesn't know him, he hadn't heard of him. A few days ago we saw another Boyko Borisov who already knows who Petyo Petrov is. And this is thanks to the video recordings that came out, which supposedly show Petyo Petrov and Teodora Georgieva - the Bulgarian European prosecutor. Then we learned from Peevski and Borisov that Georgieva was compromised from the start and should not be trusted. He announced this to Lili Marinkova in the studio of “FACT“ and the program “Conversation“ Boris Mitov, journalist at Free Europe.
“From Georgieva's words, in my opinion, it is important to mention certain data. If there is indeed evidence that crimes were committed in Bulgaria under a project financed with money from the European Union, not only abuse of these funds, but even corruption, this will allow the European Prosecutor's Office to investigate in this direction. We are talking about a possible request for a bribe by Peevski. Even if this is not directly related to the competence of the European Prosecutor's Office, evidence can still be collected for the abuse of European funds“, the guest also shared.
“In the last 10 years, the Bulgarian Prosecutor's Office has not done anything serious, anything effective like an investigation against Peevski. Now we saw Teodora Georgieva say that there was a request for a bribe of 20 million by Delyan Peevski under the Chiren gas storage project. In order to say this, she should have something to stand on. So, in the course of the case that has been opened, some testimony has already been collected. Yes, the testimony can be changed, we can speculate here, someone can be intimidated, but the mere mention of a person at this level in the context of probable corruption is something serious. The prosecutor's office is investigating us, but it almost never manages to convince us that it is investigating adequately. An obvious example is CorpBank. All those we are now mentioning are involved in CorpBank. Peevski was on very good terms with the main defendant in the bankruptcy case, Tsvetan Vassilev, until before the bank was collapsed. The investigation was then led by Petyo Petrov-Euroto, and the prosecutor was Ivan Geshev, who later became the chief prosecutor. And the prosecutor's office failed to see anything in this scheme related to the bank. So what can we expect now“, Mitov asked.
