My outrage at the murder of Captain Marin Marinov is not only mine, because a huge part of the Bulgarian public expressed its position on social networks and during demonstrations. My manifestation is not an isolated case. According to the Criminal Code (CC), every citizen who witnesses a crime of a general nature is obliged to report it to the law enforcement authorities. With this report, I fulfill my obligation to report a crime of a general nature that I have established. Why doesn't the prosecutor's office itself report the murder of Captain Marinov? This is a question that you should address to them, but it corresponds to the numerous scandals in which we see that the prosecutor's office has become involved, and somehow not a law enforcement agency, but an agency protecting the interests of the "8 Dwarfs" circle. This was announced to Lili Marinkova in the "FACTS" studio and the "Conversation" program by lawyer Mincho Spasov.
„One way or another, the entire Bulgarian society is outraged by the murder of Captain Marin Marinov. Not only because he is Bulgarian, but because he benefits from international protection as a UN employee. The murder of this employee is completely unacceptable. From what I had the opportunity to learn, it is clear that the Israeli army knew that the objects that were shot at belonged to the UN. These were guest rooms where UN employees in Palestine were accommodated. There was a coordination committee for humanitarian aid there. And this committee is in constant contact with the Israeli authorities, because one of the subjects of coordination is to show where the UN employees who benefit from this international protection are,“ added lawyer Spasov.
“There can be no talk of any mistake, although there is still no official recognition from the Israeli authorities. In the incident with the eight Red Cross employees who were killed, Israel also first denied, lied, but then the facts proved otherwise“, added the guest.
“Why is our prosecutor's office silent and has not initiated pre-trial proceedings? Why is the Foreign Ministry silent too? There is a special international department in the Supreme Court of Cassation, whose job is precisely to coordinate incidents with Bulgarian citizens who have become victims of a crime abroad. Article 5 of the Criminal Code explicitly states that crimes against Bulgarians committed abroad are subject to trial under our Criminal Code. And our prosecutor can and should investigate them“, the lawyer also said.
