In a statement, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky highlighted a significant challenge facing his country in the ongoing conflict with Russia. He pointed out that Ukraine is currently unable to effectively oppose Russian guided bombs, which have become a key strategy for Russia to advance on the front line, reports News.bg.
President Zelensky met with senior officials on Wednesday, including the Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council, the Chief of the General Staff and various members of the government. The focus of their discussion was on the urgent need for Ukraine to improve its electronic warfare capabilities, as well as boost domestic production of drones, missiles and weapons capable of countering the guided bombs used by Russia.
The meeting highlights the critical situation in which Ukraine finds itself and the urgent need for solutions to strengthen its defenses against the sophisticated weapons it uses.
"And if we see good trends in electronic warfare, drones and the missile program, then a lot still needs to be done to counter Russian bombs," Zelensky said in his regular video address, quoted by News .bg.
"Today we discussed the details. There is no alternative: Ukraine needs systems and tactics to make it possible to defend our positions, our cities and communities from these bombs. This is actually the main instrument of Russian terror and the offensive of the occupier," Zelensky noted, quoted by News.bg.
