The Russian Defense Ministry announced today that Ukraine has violated the Easter ceasefire announced by President Vladimir Putin more than a thousand times, Reuters reported, citing Russian media, BTA reports.
“Ukrainian units shelled the positions of our troops 444 times with cannons and mortars, carried out 900 strikes with unmanned aerial vehicles (…), including in the border areas of Bryansk, Kursk and Belgorod regions“, the ministry said, quoted by TASS. They added that as a result of the strikes, civilians were killed and injured, and damage was also caused to civilian objects.
The Defense Ministry announced that in accordance with Vladimir Putin's order yesterday after 6:00 p.m. (Moscow time - ed.) “all military groups in the zone of the special military operation strictly observe the ceasefire regime and have remained in the previously occupied positions“.
The ministry indicated that before the ceasefire began, the Russian military took control of the village of Novomykhaylovka in eastern Ukraine's Donetsk region.
Reuters notes that it cannot verify reports about the situation on the front line through independent sources.
