Despite Germany's call for action , the expected wave of support from its allies has yet to materialize. According to sources cited by Politico and News.bg., other nations with Patriot systems, including Spain and Greece, have chosen not to redeploy assets to Ukraine.

Germany has pledged to boost Ukraine's air defense capabilities in response to Kiev's request for help. This commitment includes the provision of three Patriot air defense systems from Germany's arsenal of eleven, along with over fifty anti-aircraft systems and Gepard missiles designed to intercept enemy fire.

German Foreign Minister Analena Berbock stressed the urgency of this support during her visit to Kyiv, highlighting Germany's role in generating a significant €1 billion to improve Ukraine's air defenses.

Poland, a key player in channeling support to Ukraine, has also refused to part with its Patriot system, citing a lack of replacements.

NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg acknowledged the existence of systems that could help Ukraine, but pointed to the complexities involved in coordinating such support.

States' reluctance to send their Patriot systems is partly due to the high costs associated with these units, which cost about $1 billion.

Despite the challenges of mobilizing air defense systems, Germany's Defense Ministry said several countries, including Belgium, Denmark, Norway, Canada and the Netherlands, have pledged financial support.

Furthermore, France, Spain, Romania, Lithuania, Belgium, the United States, and the United Kingdom pledged to donate materials and missiles to the cause. Latvia has also expressed interest in joining the support programme.

This collective effort underscores the international community's commitment to Ukraine's defense and the challenges of coordinating such support amid financial and logistical constraints.
