Lithuania announces EUR 13.5 million investment to improve Ukraine's air defense capabilities. The move is part of a broader German-led initiative aimed at strengthening Ukraine's ability to defend itself against air threats, BTA reports.
Ukraine will receive four advanced radar systems from Lithuania this year, and there are already plans to purchase replacements for these systems.
Defense Minister Laurinas Kastunas highlighted the impact of this contribution, saying that these radar systems will significantly improve Ukraine's ability to detect and neutralize air threats, enhancing its defense capabilities.
Germany is currently leading efforts to accelerate the delivery of air defense systems to Ukraine. Despite the challenges of securing a contribution of anti-aircraft equipment the "Patriot" from European and foreign partners, Lithuania's commitment marks a significant step forward in supporting Ukraine.
