Violence was applied to those who resisted - beatings, tying up and loading airplanes under the muzzle of machine guns to get to the front. Among those forcibly sent to the area of hostilities are deserters who have been legally banned from leaving their place of residence, as well as wounded who refused to return to war after their leave.

Unlawful detention, poor conditions and beatings

"Verstka" refers to stories of the mobilized and their relatives, Vladimir Muronov is specifically quoted, who made the decision not to return to the front after his leave in the summer of 2023. According to him, he was ready to suffer the legal punishment for his decision. But he was detained, after which he was taken to a military town near Yekaterinburg, where he lived together with other soldiers who refused to go to the front. Vladimir told his relatives that the premises were not enough for all the detainees - there were people who slept on the floor or on the windowsills. And every week they brought new and new ones.

Their relatives told the publication that the mobilized were detained in unacceptable conditions. No one has been officially arrested. The sister of one of the deserters says that the command offered them to return to the front if their punishment was canceled, or to wait for the court's decision. From the beginning of 2024, after a change of the commander of the military town, the mobilized were subjected to beatings and they were forbidden to visit the bilskis. According to the defectors' lawyers, in May the men, under a convoy of 40 fighters with assault rifles and batons, were forcibly loaded onto a bus and taken to a military airport, from where they were flown to the war zone. From this case onwards, the forced sending of deserters to participate in the war began to be carried out regularly.

For similar actions before "Verstka" friends and relatives of those mobilized from Krasnoyarsk, Moscow and the Moscow Region have told. According to them, those who refused to fight were sent to the front in Kharkiv region.
