The President of the United States Joe Biden announced a new package of military aid of 225 million dollars for Ukraine , CNN reports. He used the meeting to apologize to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky for the delayed American aid.
"I apologize for these weeks of confusion about what was going to be passed in terms of funding because we had trouble getting this appropriations bill passed because of some of our very conservative members preventing it from being passed, but we did ," Biden said.
Earlier the media reported that Washington will transfer to Kiev ammunition for the HIMARS multiple-launch fire systems, howitzers, armored vehicles, patrol boats, Javelin anti-tank systems, AT-4 anti-tank grenade launchers and HAWK air defense missiles.
All of this will be transferred from US military depots.
We remind you that according to a new US directive, Ukraine can use such weapons to strike across the border with Russia if forces there attack or are preparing to attack. That change, however, does not alter U.S. policy, which directs Ukraine not to use U.S.-provided ATACMS or long-range missiles and other munitions for offensive strikes in Russia, according to U.S. officials.
US President Joe Biden stated in an interview with the American television channel ABC News that the United States does not allow the use of American weapons for attacks against Moscow and the Kremlin.
