Russian airstrikes injure four in Zaporozhye - 1

At least four people were injured in a series of Russian airstrikes hit the city of Zaporozhye in southeastern Ukraine, the head of the regional military administration, Ivan Fedorov, said, quoted by Reuters. He added that 29 buildings were damaged, BTA quoted.

The Ukrainian National Police said that according to initial information, Russian forces had carried out three strikes with guided bombs.

Zaporozhie is an important logistics and industrial center that Russia has attacked with this type of bomb in recent weeks. Zaporozhye Oblast is partially occupied by Russian forces and is one of four Ukrainian oblasts that Moscow claims to have annexed. Zaporozhye NPP, the largest nuclear power plant in Europe, is also under Russian control, Reuters recalls.

Dnepropetrovsk regional governor Sergiy Lisak reported that one person was injured and a five-story apartment building was engulfed in flames after a Russian drone attack on the city of Kryvyi Rih. Emergency services rescued six people from the affected part of the building and extinguished the fire, Lisak added.

Russia also hit the southern Nikolaev region last night. Governor Vitaly Kim said the cruise missile attack hit a storage area in an infrastructure facility. As a result of the impact, a fire broke out, which was later extinguished.
