The United States is not currently engaged in preparing an agreement on the development of Ukraine's natural resources, including its minerals, including rare earth elements.
This was announced at a regular briefing for journalists by the head of the State Department's press service, Tammy Bruce.
“We are currently dealing with a number of issues. This is not currently under consideration, so I cannot say what the solution is“, said the US State Department spokeswoman, when asked about the minerals deal between the US and Ukraine.
She recalled that White House Press Secretary Caroline Leavitt had already spoken on this issue. "I'll just point you to what they've said on this issue," Bruce added.
As Leavitt noted, a bilateral agreement between Washington and Kiev on cooperation in mineral extraction remains on the agenda, but the US administration is now focused on a peaceful settlement in Ukraine.
