The North Atlantic Alliance will begin its annual air exercise Steadfast Noon on October 14 to practice using nuclear weapons. This was announced by NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte to journalists upon his arrival in London for a meeting with British Prime Minister Keir Starmer, TASS reported, as quoted by Focus.
"From Monday, NATO will start the Steadfast Noon maneuvers,", he noted.
The exercise takes place annually, involving dozens of aircraft from nuclear and non-nuclear NATO member states, and simulates a tactical nuclear strike. However, the maneuvers do not include flights with actual nuclear weapons on board.
