This year's Nobel Peace Prize was won by a Japanese organization founded by survivors of Hiroshima and Nagasaki in World War II, reported SIR (Servizio Informazione Religiosa).

The Japanese organization “Nihon Hidankyo“ - a movement created by people who survived the atomic bombs in Hiroshima and Nagasaki, known as “hibakusha” - receives this year's Nobel Peace Prize, the Norwegian Nobel Committee announced, as quoted by Reuters.

„The Hibakusha receive the Peace Prize for their efforts to achieve a world without nuclear weapons and for showing through witness accounts that nuclear weapons must never be used again,” the Nobel Committee noted.
