The European antitrust regulator is investigating the American manufacturer of household chemicals and hygiene products Procter & Gamble (P&G), reported Bloomberg, citing its sources.
The regulators suspect that the company illegally segments sales of its products within the community to prevent its goods from moving from one country to another at lower prices. In March, the same inspection was also carried out on the soft drinks market. As Bloomberg reported, the main target then was Coca-Cola, which is not directly mentioned in the European Commission documents. Now the name P&G also does not appear in the documents, but is mentioned only as a company that is “active in the personal care industry“.
It is noted that the European regulator has not yet brought formal charges against Procter&Gamble. If violations are proven, the American company could face a fine of 10% of its annual global turnover.
