Some of the Bulgarian expatriates in the Turkish city of Izmir are considering not voting and boycotting the vote on Sunday. Kenan Yozgyur from Izmir reported this to BNR.
Most political parties do not visit Izmir, and those who think of them do so only during elections, he pointed out and predicted low turnout.
"To feel that there are elections. You can't help but feel it, but there isn't much interest from people like it used to be - the previous years, to tell you the truth. Low voter turnout is simply expected," he pointed out.
Yozgyur explained the reasons for the lack of desire to vote"
"Bulgarian citizens living in Turkey are completely desperate for Bulgarian politicians. 35 years have passed since 1989 and a new generation is coming. I am one of them, we are educated, we know the language and we also want to participate in the governance of the country. The parties only want votes from us. That is why the young generation refuses to participate actively in the elections - it is about the Bulgarian elections".
