Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky approved a law allowing foreign citizens to serve as officers in the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU), reported Ukrinform, quoted by BTA.

The document was returned to the Verkhovna Rada with the signature of the head of state on October 25.

Thus, people who are foreign citizens or are stateless of any country will be able to hold officer positions on a contractual basis in the Ukrainian Armed Forces, in the State Special Transport Service (transport troops - note ed.) and the National Guard.< /p>

As previously reported, on October 10 the Verkhovna Rada adopted a law defining the procedures for personnel service of people of this category in the mentioned structures, including with the possibility of serving as officers.
