Iranian President Massoud Pezeshkian gave his first reaction after the Israeli airstrikes yesterday at dawn on military sites in the Islamic Republic, the Associated Press reported, quoted by BTA .

In a post in Aix, he expressed his condolences to the relatives of the four victims, all part of the air defenses, given in Israel's first open attack on Iran. The president warned against further such attacks against his country.

"Iran's enemies should know that its brave people will fearlessly defend their land. Iran will respond to any stupidity with tact and intelligence," Pezeshkian wrote.

Iran has no limits when it comes to protecting its interests, its territorial integrity and its people, Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi said, according to the semi-official Tasnim news agency, Reuters reported, quoted by BTA.

He said this after Israel bombed military sites in Iran in the early hours of Saturday in retaliation for Iran's attack on Israel earlier this month.

Meanwhile, US President Joe Biden said Israel appeared to have struck only military targets in its attack on Iran and that he hoped this was "the end" given the tensions between Israel and Iran.

The International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) has confirmed that the Israeli strikes on military targets in Iran on the night of Friday and Saturday "did not affect" nuclear installations, BTA reported.

"I call for reason and refraining from actions that could endanger the security of nuclear and other radioactive materials," wrote on the social network "X" IAEA Director General Rafael Grossi.
