At least 24 people were killed, and Five people were injured when a bus crashed on a highway in the central Mexican state of Zacatecas, local authorities said, cited by Reuters and BTA.
The accident occurred in the early morning hours of yesterday when the bus carrying the victims collided with the rear of a tractor trailer carrying corn.
The governor of Zacatecas, David Monreal, confirmed the victims on social networks, promising to provide support to the victims.
Rescue teams were working to retrieve some of the bodies that had fallen into a ravine, local authorities told Reuters.
Photos shared on social media showed rescue teams and security forces, including the military, guarding the area as rescuers worked to retrieve the bodies.
The bus was heading towards Ciudad Juarez, a border town in the state of Chihuahua, although it was not immediately confirmed if any migrants were among the victims.
