At least 12 people died in an explosion at a steel processing plant in Mexico, the Associated Press reported, quoted by BTA.
According to local authorities, one person was injured in the incident, which took place in the state of Tlaxcala, in the city of Aalostok, about 140 kilometers east of the capital of Mexico.
According to preliminary information of the workers, the explosion occurred when molten steel came into contact with water. A fire ensued, which was brought under control. An investigation is underway.
Tlaxcala Governor Lorena Cuellar expressed her condolences to the families of the victims and plans to go to the scene.
