Russia's air defense repels Ukrainian drones aimed at Moscow  - 1

Russian Mayor Sergei Sobyanin said overnight that air defense forces had repelled several drone attacks aimed at the Russian capital, Reuters reported, quoted by BTA.

The mayor reported on the social network “Telegram“ that air defense units located southeast of the capital had repelled a group of drones, without specifying how many there were.

“There were no casualties or damage at the site where the debris fell“, Sobyanin said, adding that specialist teams had been sent to the scene.

He later added that two drones heading for Moscow were downed near Podolsk south of the capital, as well as a third, downed near Troitsk, southwest of it.

He added that a separate group of two drones was shot down by air defense south of Moscow.

Sobyanin said there were no casualties or damage in the strikes.

The Russian federal aviation agency “Rosaviatsia“ added that “Vnukovo“ and “Domodedovo“ airports in the capital have temporarily suspended flights.

The governor of the Ryazan region, located southeast of Moscow, Pavel Malkov said on “Telegram“ that the regional center was attacked by drones in the early hours of the night. He said the aircraft were shot down by air defense.

Unofficial channels on “Telegram“ claim that a power plant and a fuel warehouse were hit in the Ryazan region.
