Musk not allowed in the White House - 1

US President Donald Trump neither confirmed nor denied the information that his supporter, American billionaire Elon Musk, has not received permission to occupy an office in the White House.

The American leader commented evasively to journalists on reports that White House Chief of Staff Susan Wiles blocked Musk's attempts to occupy a place in the West Wing of the White House.

"This is not Elon's office. There will be about 20 people working in this room," said Trump. According to him, this is office space that is used by government officials working on the implementation of certain presidential decrees, "to make sure that things go well". The West Wing of the White House is also home to the Oval Office of the US President.

As The New York Times reported in mid-January, Musk had hoped to use the White House office space to house the agency created by the new US administration to improve government efficiency and combat bureaucracy.

The billionaire was appointed by Trump to head the agency, called DOGE - Department of Government Efficiency.

As NBC News previously reported, despite its name, DOGE will not be a full-fledged department in the federal government. Its creation requires approval from the US Congress. Trump said that DOGE "will provide outside advice and guidance."
