Leicester City achieved an important victory in the battle for survival in the Premier League, after turning from 0:1 to 2:1 Tottenham as an away match in the 23rd round, BTA reported.
The eternal favorite of the local fans Jamie Vardy and Bilal El Hanous scored the goals within four minutes at the beginning of the second half. Both goals fell after a pass from Bobby De Cordova-Reid, and Leicester not only ended the series of seven matches without a win, but also left the danger zone with 17 points.
In the other match, the all-London derby between Crystal Palace and Brentford, the result was identical - 1:2, but both teams are in the middle of the standings. Tottenham had the upper hand before the break and should have had a bigger lead. But they only managed one goal, through Brazilian Richarlison. Pedro Porro crossed from the right in the 33rd minute, Richarlison squeezed between three defenders at the back post and headed the ball into the net.
Less than a minute into the second half, a great long pass from Bobby De Cordova-Reid found an unmarked Jamie Vardy in the penalty area. The Leicester striker found space, took his position and headed the ball low into the centre of the goal. Four minutes later, the "Foxes" scored a second goal, through El Hanous, who finished off another cross from Bobby Reid.
In the final 30 minutes, the hosts came back into action and could have equalised in the 61st and 72nd minutes. First, Jakub Stolyarczyk saved Leicester's goal after a shot by Dejan Kulusevski, and then Pedro Porro tried his luck, but it was not accurate. Brentford achieved success over Crystal Palace with goals from Kevin Mbuemo from the penalty spot in the 66th minute and Kevin Shade in the 80th. The penalty should have been taken twice, as a Crystal Palace defender entered the penalty area before the signal. This would not have mattered if Mbuemo had not sent the ball against the post, after which Eberechi Eze cleared it. However, Palace pulled one back at the end after a precise shot by Romain Essi.
