"Moldovagaz" today made its first delivery of natural gas to the pro-Russian separatist region of Transnistria in Moldova since the transit of Russian natural gas through Ukraine was suspended, Reuters reported. This was announced by the Moldovan energy company, quoted by Reuters, writes BTA.
"Moldovagaz" has delivered 3 million cubic meters of natural gas to Transnistria.
Since January 1, when the contract for the transit of Russian natural gas through the territory of Ukraine expired, Transnistria has been facing an energy crisis.
At the end of last year, the Russian state energy corporation "Gazprom" announced that it would stop exporting natural gas to Moldova on January 1, 2025 due to "unpaid debts", Reuters recalls.
