FBI Director Candidate Kesh Patel has received money from Russia-linked film producer Igor Lopatenok, The Washington Post reports.

“Patel, Trump's nominee for FBI director, received $25,000 last year from a film company that promotes Kremlin-backed anti-Western views,“ the publication claims, citing documents it has obtained. According to a financial disclosure form that Patel filed, the newspaper says, he received money from the Los Angeles-based film company Global Tree Pictures in 2024.

According to the Washington Times, this company belongs to director Igor Lopatenok, who has Russian and American citizenship. Patel participated in the filming of the multi-part film “All the President's Men: The Conspiracy Against Trump“ (All the President's Men: The Conspiracy Against Trump, 2024) as a representative of the former team of the US president.

In one of the fragments of the film, the publication points out, Patel calls for “closing the FBI headquarters and opening it as a museum of the “deep state“. In November 2024 the film was presented on the online channels of American TV presenter Tucker Carlson.
