A Serbian army transport plane transported 12 people injured in a fire at a disco in the city of Kocani in North Macedonia to Belgrade for treatment, the TANYUG agency reported, BTA reported.
“Nine patients injured in the fire in North Macedonia have been sent to the emergency center, and three patients have been hospitalized at the Military Medical Academy“, the statement said.
Serbia has declared Tuesday, March 18, a day of mourning for the victims of the fire in Kocani.
The fire at the “Pulse“ disco in Kocani occurred on the night of March 16, shortly before 3 a.m. (local time). According to the Ministry of Internal Affairs of North Macedonia, 59 people died and 155 were injured. In total, about 500 people were present at the club.
As the Prime Minister of North Macedonia Hristijan Mickoski previously stated, the discotheque was operating with a fake license. On March 16, the government of North Macedonia decided to declare seven days of mourning in the country in connection with the tragedy in Kocani.
