At least 30 people died in a collision between a bus and a truck near the city of Escarcega in the south of Mexico, local radio station XEVT reported.
According to it, the passenger bus was traveling from Cancun (state of Quintana Roo) to Comalcalco (state of Tabasco). According to preliminary data, the truck crossed into the oncoming lane, and as a result of the head-on collision, the vehicles caught fire.
The radio station, citing the National Guard, reported that there were 39 passengers on the bus. Only eight people are known to have survived.
Tabasco Governor Javier May confirmed the incident in X and expressed his condolences to the families and loved ones of the victims.
