Recep Erdogan: Israel caused $100 billion in damage to Gaza, Netanyahu should pay for it - 1

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan today once again pointed out that a new world order is needed that takes into account the interests of the Islamic world, numbering over two billion people, Turkish media reported, quoted by BTA.

There can be no peace, tranquility and development of humanity where there is no justice. There can be no justice in a system in which the Islamic world, whose population exceeds 2 billion people, is not represented, Erdogan stressed in the Malaysian capital Kuala Lumpur, according to state-run TRT-Haber television.

The Turkish head of state has repeatedly stressed the need to reform the UN, which he says is unable to resolve emerging crises in the world.

"We need a new world order to solve the problems of the economy, diplomacy, trade, security. Building a fair, cooperation-based and trust-based system that encompasses everyone is a necessity, not a preference," Erdogan said, quoted by TRT-Haber.

The Turkish president also once again rejected the US proposal to relocate Palestinians from Gaza. He said Israel must pay for the damage it has caused there and begin reconstruction.

We do not consider the proposal to evict Palestinians from the lands they have lived in for thousands of years to be something that should be taken seriously, Erdogan said.

He added that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's government should seek funds to "compensate" for the damage, which he said amounted to $100 billion, "instead of looking for a place for the people in Gaza."
