Ukraine can continue to fight Russia until the end of the year with European support, Polish Foreign Minister Radoslaw Sikorski said, quoted by CNN.
"Ukraine can fight alone with our European support until the end of this year, and I think Putin should take that into account," Sikorski said in an interview with American television.
Asked if his impression after his conversation with US Secretary of State Marco Rubio was that Ukraine would be offered security guarantees from Washington, Sikorski said that the best guarantee for Ukraine is its army, which numbers one million servicemen.
"If you had asked me three years ago what the relations between Ukraine and Russia would be like in this war in three years, I don't think any of us would have guessed that "Russia will occupy only 20% of Ukraine's territory," said Sikorski.
"But if we want to achieve lasting peace, it must be consistent with both sides, especially with the side that is the victim of aggression," said Sikorski.
