The Ukrainian military said today that they attacked an oil refinery in the Russian Black Sea city of Tuapse and two military airfields – "Saki" and "Kacha" overnight. - in the Russian-occupied Crimea, Reuters reported, quoted by BTA.
The General Staff stated in the "Telegram" application that at least 40 explosions were registered in the area of the refinery.
UNIAN Agency, citing military intelligence sources, added that a fire broke out there after the attack on the Tuapse refinery.
The agency notes that the oil terminal in Tuapse is one of the largest in Russia, and the port in this Russian city is one of the key cargo ports on the Black Sea, and is also a logistics center connected to the railway network, allowing the transportation of cargo from the central and southern regions of the Russian Federation.
The attacked Tuapse refinery processes crude oil with a declared volume of 12 million tons per year, UNIAN indicates. Over 90% of the petroleum products produced are for export.
