North Korea has criticized the upcoming annual joint military exercises between the United States and South Korea, saying they will escalate tensions on the Korean Peninsula, state media KCNA reported, BTA reports.
The exercises, called “Freedom Shield“, will begin on Monday and continue until March 20. They are aimed at preparing for potential threats, including those emanating from North Korea, “Reuters“ agency notes.
“We have already made it clear that if the United States resumes its military demonstrations, we will have no choice but to resume strategic deterrence“, the KCNA warned, without going into details.
