Russia intensifies military rhetoric: no negotiations, no compromises - 1

Russian President Vladimir Putin and Kremlin officials have categorically rejected the possibility of concessions in future peace talks or the acceptance of any peace initiatives from the United States, Europe or Ukraine, News.bg reports.

The Russian Foreign Ministry (MFA) also opposed a negotiated ceasefire. At the same time, Putin hinted at the possibility of a new October Revolution, emphasizing that the unity of Russian society is crucial for victory in Ukraine.

Putin made a historical reference to the October Revolution, recalling the disintegration of Russian society during World War I, and called on citizens to maintain their support and cohesion. He said that Russia “will not give up“ from "its own" territory in future peace talks - possibly referring to the illegally annexed Ukrainian territories.

In April 2023, the Kremlin launched the State Fund "Defenders of the Fatherland", aimed at controlling social support for veterans and monopolizing their activities. In addition, Putin declared 2025 the "Year of the Defender of the Fatherland", which emphasizes the priority place of militarization in Russian politics.

The Russian authorities are likely to use the termination of US military aid to Ukraine to intensify their propaganda campaign, presenting Russia's victory as inevitable. The Kremlin welcomed recent comments by a Trump administration official who incorrectly characterized the Russian invasion of Ukraine as a "proxy war". Russian media presented this as an admission that the United States is directly involved in the conflict.

Meanwhile, U.S. and Ukrainian delegations will hold bilateral meetings in Saudi Arabia next week. In Ukraine, opposition politicians have categorically rejected the possibility of holding elections before the end of the war, while European countries continue to announce new military aid.

On the battlefield, Ukrainian forces have recently advanced towards Pokrovsk, while Russian units are advancing towards Kupyansk, Borova, Siversk, Pokrovsk and Kurakhovo.

Vladimir Putin has sought to allay public fears about conscripts being sent to the front, amid continued reports that military units are forcing them to sign professional military service contracts before being sent to Ukraine.
