Several hundred protesters began a blockade of Serbia's public broadcaster in Belgrade tonight to protest the way the student movement against corruption was defined during a TV program, DPA reported, quoted by BTA.

The blockade of the premises of the media outlet "Radio Television Serbia" (RTS) in the Serbian capital began shortly after midnight local time, triggered by a question a journalist asked President Aleksandar Vucic. The journalist used the term “horde“ to describe students protesting in Serbia after the collapse of a canopy at the renovated Novi Sad train station, killing 15 people.

During the blockade of the media, protesters only allowed employees to leave, but not to enter the building. There were brief clashes between protesters and police, in which one police officer was injured, the interior ministry announced, saying that law enforcement would not intervene against protesters blocking the entrances to the building unless there was a forceful invasion of public institutions and the public media.

RTS, accused of bias, has already been the target of student-led protests in recent months.
