South Korean Acting President Choi Sang-mok has urged the nation to respect and accept the Constitutional Court's decision - whatever it may be - to impeach leader Yun Suk-yeol over the brief martial law, Reuters reported, BTA reported.
Choi also said the government would mobilize all possible police resources in the areas surrounding the court, vowing to show zero tolerance for any actions against the authorities.
"The international community is closely monitoring the Republic of Korea. "The democratic resilience of our country is being tested," Choi said at a meeting with cabinet ministers.
"It is essential for social stability and community development that all citizens express their opinions in a lawful manner and respect and accept the results of any decision," he said.
Security measures around the court have been tightened, with a ban on drone flights in the area already in place. Both supporters and opponents of Yoon are expected to take to the streets to hear the decision, which is expected to be handed down within days, Reuters noted.
