Efforts are being made to arrange a phone call between US President Donald Trump and the new Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney in the next few days, Canadian Foreign Minister Melanie Joly said, quoted by Reuters, BTA reports.
Joly said that arrangements are underway for a phone call between Carney, who will take office as Canadian prime minister later today, and Trump.
She also said that she was coordinating the response to the US tariffs with Europe and Mexico. Canada is working with the Europeans and Mexico to exchange information on the US tariffs in order to find a way out of the situation, Joly added.
