The General Staff of the Ukrainian Army stated today on the social network "Facebook" that the information claiming that Ukrainian units are allegedly "surrounded" by the enemy in the Russian Kursk Region is false and fabricated by the Russians for political purposes, Ukrinform reported, quoted by BTA.
"The information claiming that the enemy has allegedly "surrounded" Ukrainian units in the Kursk Region is "fake" and is being spread by the Russians for political purposes in order to put pressure on Ukraine and its partners. The situation has not changed significantly over the past 24 hours. Combat actions in the operational zone of the Kursk Group of Forces continue," the statement said.
The General Staff noted that Ukrainian forces have regrouped and withdrawn to more favorable positions, continuing to carry out their missions in the Kursk region.
"Our servicemen are repelling the enemy's offensive actions and inflicting effective fire damage with all types of weapons. Since the beginning of the current day, there have been 13 combat actions in the Kursk sector. There is no danger of encirclement," the General Staff concluded, quoted by Ukrinform.
US President Donald Trump wrote on his social network "Truth Social" that he "insisted" on Russian President Vladimir Putin "to spare lives" of the surrounded Ukrainian servicemen to avoid "a terrible massacre, the likes of which has not occurred since World War II".
