The Democratic Party in the US has reached its lowest level of popularity among American voters since 1990. A poll showed that most Americans have a negative opinion of it, NBC reports.
According to the survey, only 27 percent of Americans surveyed said they have a positive opinion of the Democrats, and 55 percent of those surveyed reported a negative attitude towards the Democratic Party.
"This is the lowest level of approval for the party in an NBC survey since 1990. ", the channel's journalists report.
The poll was conducted from March 7 to 11 this year among 1,000 adult Americans.
Earlier, the Washington Post newspaper wrote that the Democratic Party representatives in the US Senate are facing a split after Congress passed the government funding law.
The media also writes that the Democratic Party's sponsors continue to be angry about the result of the 2024 presidential election, which was won by Republican Donald Trump. A Democratic sponsor noted that the party "has not learned its lesson from 2016."
