US Secretary of State Marco Rubio will visit Brussels from April 2 to 4 to participate in a meeting of NATO foreign ministers. The main topics of discussion will include security priorities, defense investments and ensuring lasting peace in Ukraine, Reuters reports, citing State Department spokeswoman Tammy Bruce, BTA reports.
During a briefing, Bruce said that Rubio will also discuss the “common threat“ that China poses to the Euro-Atlantic and Indo-Pacific alliances. This will take place within the framework of a special NATO session with the participation of representatives from the Indo-Pacific region.
Meanwhile, representatives of the British, French and Ukrainian military leadership will hold a meeting in the coming days dedicated to the long-term security of Ukraine. A spokesman for British Prime Minister Keir Starmer said that the talks will give impetus to the next stage of strategic planning.
“The meeting will outline concrete steps to ensure the sustainable security of Ukraine“, said a statement made after a telephone conversation between Starmer and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky.
