Iran could cease to exist by September unless it meets the US demands and abandons its nuclear weapons program. This was told by a source close to the administration of US President Donald Trump to the British newspaper Daily Express.
„There is a clear understanding of the intentions. Iran's time is running out. If they do not respond to President Trump's generous offer in exchange for a full audit of Iran's nuclear capabilities and their complete dismantling, then by September Iran will no longer exist. It’s that simple,” he said.
An Israeli government source confirmed to the publication that Israel and the US would strike the Islamic Republic’s nuclear facilities if Tehran did not resume talks on the nuclear deal.
“What is certain is that there will be a strike if Iran refuses to drastically change its position. The only question that remains to be answered is when such a strike will be carried out,” the source told The Daily Express.
On March 30, Trump said he would impose secondary tariffs on Iran in two weeks if there was no progress in talks on Iran’s nuclear program. He threatened that if the deal was completely rejected, the country would face unprecedented bombing. Iran's Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei, in response to Trump's threats, noted that he does not believe in the possibility of US military intervention, but if Washington tries to organize a rebellion in the republic, it will receive a sharp response.
