China has hit back at the tariff war launched by the Trump administration by announcing additional 34% tariffs on all US goods. The new tariffs will take effect on April 10, The Guardian reports, Fokus reports.
A statement from the Chinese Foreign Ministry said the US policy was inconsistent with international trade rules and constituted a unilateral act of economic bullying.
“China has always been a staunch defender of the international economic and trade order, as well as the multilateral trading system“, the Ministry said.
Beijing called on the US to correct its wrongdoings and repeal the unilateral tariff measures.
