The Palestinian Hamas movement confirmed on its Telegram channel that one of its military wing commanders was killed in southern Lebanon as a result of an Israeli strike.
“We inform you that Al-Qassam Brigades commander Hassan Ahmed Farhat died early on the morning of April 4 in the southern Lebanese city of Sidon as a result of an Israeli attempt on his life,“ the statement said. Hamas added that the slain man's son, Hamza, who was also a member of the group, was killed along with his father.
Earlier today, the Israel Defense Forces announced the killing of Hamas commander in western Lebanon, Hassan Farhat, in a strike in the Sidon region. They said Farhat had "organized numerous terrorist attacks against Israeli civilians and members of the Israel Defense Forces".
