The world economy is in a fever after Trump's tariffs, Russian President Dmitry Peskov's official spokesman said at a briefing.
"We are hearing very unfavorable forecasts from various economists, including world-renowned ones. Russia currently has essentially no trade and economic relations with the United States. But we need to minimize the negative consequences of the consequences caused by US tariffs for the global economy: The world economy reacts to these decisions very, very emotionally. The Russian economy is developing successfully and has a reserve thanks to the filigree actions of the government and the president. However, additional efforts will be needed against the backdrop of the turbulence that is now being observed in the world economy“, Peskov said
"There are no plans for a conversation between Putin and Trump in the coming days. There is nothing on the schedule yet. Possible guarantees for Ukraine are a very complex topic, the subject of negotiations and discussions. So far, no one will name specific parameters. Russia continues to discuss the nuances of a possible ceasefire. Now the media is publishing a lot of different fakes, rumors, speculations, outright lies. President Putin supported the idea of a ceasefire. At the same time, he noted that there are many different nuances that need to be understood before this is done," the Kremlin spokesman continued.
"The issues of strategic stability and arms control are not yet discussed within the framework of the dialogue between Russia and the United States. Although in general the topic should be high on the agenda, we have not yet reached that point. Russia and the United States are taking the first cautious steps in general to create a favorable atmosphere for discussing the arms issue," Peskov added.
The Kremlin announced the presence of "cautious optimism" in relations with the US, which was facilitated by the work of the President's Special Representative for Economic Cooperation, the head of the Russian Direct Investment Fund, Kirill Dmitriev:
"The work is going on, the work is hard. The work is being carried out through various channels," Putin's voice said.
"The problem with the Iranian nuclear program must be resolved only by political and diplomatic means. All parties must maintain absolute restraint..
Iran is an ally of Russia, with which it has very developed and multilateral relations," Peskov added.
