Russian President Vladimir Putin has not received any signals from Europe about readiness for dialogue or a desire to negotiate to end the war in Ukraine, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said, quoted by DPA.

"There have been no signals so far", Peskov said in response to a question from TASS about the proposal by Finnish President Alexander Stubb with Moscow to negotiate with one or two countries on behalf of European countries that support Ukraine. According to Stubb, these should be France and Great Britain.

So far, Russia and the United States are ignoring Europe in talks about a possible end to the war in Ukraine. None of Kiev's European allies participated in the consultations, DPA notes.

In addition, Peskov said that Vladimir Putin and US President Donald Trump are not planning a new phone conversation after the Kremlin's special envoy Kirill Dmitriev arrived in Washington this week, Reuters adds.

The "NBC News" television channel yesterday reported that Trump's inner circle had advised him not to talk to Putin until he commits to a full ceasefire. The Russian president expressed agreement in principle, but insisted on the fulfillment of a long list of conditions.

After two meetings yesterday, Dmitriev said that he sees "positive dynamics" in relations between Moscow and Washington. However, he indicated that more talks are needed to overcome differences.
