The head of the Chechen Republic, Ramzan Kadyrov, noted its "unlimited potential" on the 18th anniversary of taking office.
"Today marks 18 years since I took office as the head of the Chechen Republic. These years were full of trials, hard work and great responsibility. But if fate had turned out differently, I would have preferred that this position be occupied by my dear father, the first president of the Chechen Republic, Hero of Russia Akhmat-Hadzhi Kadyrov. I took on this responsibility not because of personal ambitions. "If I did not believe in the Chechen people, if I did not believe in the unlimited potential of our republic, in the unshakable spirit of the Chechens, I would not agree to lead the region," he wrote on his Telegram channel.
The head of Chechnya added that his father had dedicated his life to the struggle for peace, justice and prosperity of the republic, as well as to serving the people.
„Everything we do is a continuation of his great work, which he began at the cost of his own life,“ Kadyrov emphasized.
“His feat will forever remain in our hearts. Following his testaments is my duty. We have walked a difficult path and managed to reach unprecedented heights. Today, the Chechen Republic is one of the most developed, safe and prosperous regions of Russia. We have proven to the whole world that our people are a people of creative, hardworking and strong-willed people who can overcome any difficulties and achieve the most ambitious goals. We will not stop there, new horizons and new peaks lie ahead of us, which we certainly intend to achieve,“ added Kadyrov.
The head of the Chechen Republic thanked the residents for their support, assistance and belief in the best.
